On behalf of McCormick divers, I am proud to announce the 5^th McCormick Divers diving extravaganza, 2001 – A DIVING ODYSSEY, which will take place at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach on Saturday, October 6, 2001 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The evening will include a spectacular diving show and a dinner, with silent and live auctions. Tickets for the evening are on sale now and are $40.00 per person (pre-purchase required). Tickets, only for the diving show, can be purchased in advance or at the door for $5.00 per person. We encourage you to purchase your tickets early as in previous years the event has been sold out!

In celebration of McCormick Divers’ 32^nd anniversary, I am also pleased to announce a special presentation to Dr. Sammy Lee, double Olympic Gold Medal winner, Olympic U.S. Diving coach, Sullivan Award winner, former member of the President’s Council for Physical Fitness under 5 Presidents and Hall of Fame inductee.

In addition to hoping that you, your family and friends can attend, The McCormick Divers’ Booster Club, a non-profit entity, is seeking sponsorship and auction item donations. Auction items will be prominently displayed during the evening and all donors and sponsors will be recognized in the event program. Also, sponsors may display advertising banners if received before September 6th. Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors will also receive special recognition during the evening as well as two complimentary dinner tickets. The sponsorship levels are as follow:

PLATINUM sponsor $ 5,000+ GOLD sponsor $ 1500

SILVER sponsor $ 750 BRONZE sponsor $ 250

SUPPORT sponsor $ 100

Any other monetary donations are also gratefully accepted and will receive recognition in the program.

The McCormick Divers Booster Club is most appreciative of your generous support. Proceeds from the event go towards maintaining and purchasing equipment, coaches’ travel expenses and continuing the development of our divers. We now have established a Glenn McCormick Scholarship Fund, which allows McCormick Divers who qualify to join the team with partial or full tuition paid by the Fund.
